Austria and Iran set to forge closer commercial ties

The Austrian Commercial Attaché in Iran has said that Iran and Austria have ample potential for production of dairy products. Iran is Austria's most important trade partner in the region, and can transfer related dairy technology to Iran.

Austria exports over 300 million euros to Iran, largely electronic and industrial equipment.

He also welcomed the prospects for higher investment and trade exchange between the two countries. A bilateral agreement signed in 2004 eliminates double taxation and protects foreign investments.

"Austria is also exploring investment opportunities in plastic and automobile industries in Iran.
