Six thousand machinists at Boeings Wichita plant, have been told by the new Canadian owners that they will receive letters informing them if they have a job offer.
Those who are offered jobs will be told to report to work on Monday, while an estimated two thousand more will not be offered employment.
The offer comes just a few days before a union vote on a contract proposal from Onex asking workers to accept a 10 percent pay cut and agree to other concessions.
