Something for retail web designers to consider. According to a study by Nielsen/NetRatings, broadband users make 69% of online retail purchases, and spend more money than dial-up users.
In the days when dial-up was the norm, it was considered best to keep websites relatively simple. However, with increasing use of broadband, web designers can now use eye catching techniques that appeal to broadband users.
While dial-up users still need to be considered, designers need to look more at their intended market and less at who they may alienate.
