There is an interesting article in, Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, (Indiana) about small business owners hiring their children for their offices or factories to give them a meaningful work and learning experience.
I think this is a great idea, providing of course the kids themselves want to go into the same line of work and are not pressured to do so.
Management consultant Lonnie Pacelli gives a great piece of advice that parents intending to hire their kids should heed. He suggests owners let teens know that at work, their mothers or fathers are now their bosses, not parents and "to avoid confusing them, you're going to behave slightly differently at work than you would at home."
