Snickers and Mars bars withdrawn in New South Wales

All Snickers and Mars bars are being withdrawn from sale in New South Wales, following a contamination threat.

MasterFoods company president, Andy Weston-Webb, said a threat had been made to poison a member of the public using the chocolate bars.

The company has received three threatening letters since last month, when a contaminated Snickers bar was posted to MasterFoods' head office in Victoria. Tests showed it had been contaminated with an unidentified substance.

Police say the latest letter claims that seven Snickers and Mars bars in the Sydney metropolitan region, have been contaminated.
