Volkswagen asks prosecutors to investigate allegations of bribery

Volkswagen says it has asked prosecutors to investigate allegations of bribery at its subsidiary Skoda, in light of reports published in the German media.

The news magazines Der Spiegel and Focus reported that Skoda's former personnel director, Helmut Schuster, had been implicated in bribes from potential car parts supply firms.
