Comment: God would weep

In Ireland, The Bishop of Elphin Most. Rev. Christopher Jones, said recently,

"God too must weep as He looks at the world from a distance and sees what people, who are driven by a lust for power, for pleasure or for status can do to each other in the process. He must weep also to see how consumerism today can convince people that there is no need for God or prayer or worship because money can purchase all the happiness that people desire."

If I were God, I too would weep - at how much of the above is being done in my name.

I would weep at how many people "driven by a lust for power" use my name as often as they can.

I would weep at my name being used as a self righteous credit card to pay for Christian Soldiers marching off to war.

I would weep at the sight of the mangled bodies of innocent women and children in Fallujah, murdered by those claiming to have Me on their side.

Yes, Mr Jones - If I were God, I would weep. But for far more valid reasons than the rise of consumerism.
