Goodnight from Sydney!

That's about it for today apart from a last minute round up of local news that may have overseas interest.

Our Prime Minister, Jackboot Johnny Howard, has been given his reward for looking after another countries interests before our own, and been awarded the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service, the first time it has been presented outside North America or Europe.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports that, "The director of the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars, Frederick Bush, said Mr Howard had been a good friend to America and the US President had recorded a "very friendly message to John Howard and the people of Australia for their support".

Oh wow. How thrilling. We are all overawed.

More worthy is Frank Lowy, chairman of the Westfield Group who will receive the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship.

On a sad note, Olivia Newton-John's boyfriend has been missing for nearly two months. Last year, Patrick McDermott expressed his love for Newton-John on the Nine Network's This is Your Life program.

"If we could all just be a little bit like you we'd all be a little better off," he told her.

He was last seen when he told friends he was going on an overnight fishing trip out of the Californian city of San Pedro. There are some suggestions he may have faked his death

Goodnight - and wherever you may be - be safe.
