Human Resources: Japanese women want better workplaces to encourage child birth

According to an Internet survey, Japanese women believe that changes to the workplace would make it easier for mothers to work and encourage women to have children.

In answer to the question, "What change from current circumstances would encourage you to have children the most?" forty three per cent answered, "having a workplace that would make it easy to work even with children."

The survey also asked "What change would make you want to give birth to children?" Forty two percent of full time housewives and 44.2 percent of unmarried women answered "a workplace where it is easy to work."

The survey questions were prepared by the Mainichi and conducted on July 19 and 20 by goo Research, which is operated by NTT-Resonance.
