A Russian army officer has been detained in Stavropol for selling his soldiers as cheap labor to local businessmen.

While the officer of course received payment for his unorthodox recruitment service, the soldiers were paid nothing except the usual army provision.

Three of the soldiers worked for a furniture company and two making sausages.
