Human Resources: Women may have to change their "characteristic feminine style"

South Africa's "Business Report" has an article that takes a look at factors that inhibit women's advancement in the workplace.

Executive head-hunter Auguste "Gusti" Coetzer, a senior partner at Leaders Unlimited/Korn Ferry International, has said that women may have to adapt their "characteristic feminine style" to compete with men.

Coetzer believes that "some women still tend to share information and feelings, while men report facts so they can quickly move forward to decisions and results".

Recently two researchers at Stanford University, Muriel Niederle and Lise Vesterlundalso, made similar claims stating that women tend to shy away from competition while men compete "vigorously."
