International Development: Myanmar to lift tax on WFP aid

Myanmar's military regime is to lift a controversial ten per cent "export" tax on local food the World Food Program buys to distribute internally.

That's the good news. The bad news is that out of 5,500 tonnes of rice meant for North Rhakine State, the WFP has only been able to deliver 430 tonnes. The rest? - sitting with suppliers.
