The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Dell Australia is secretly cancelling the transactions of customers who successfully ordered and paid for incorrectly discounted hard drives.
The controversy arose after Dell mistakenly advertised 250GB hard drives for $8:80. Word got around and hundreds of customers attempted to order the hard drives.
Spokesman Paul McKeon said the $A8.80 price was a "clerical error", and affected customers could either have their money refunded in full or pay the difference (almost $600).
The NSW Office of Fair Trading, has said Dell had a legal obligation to provide the hard drives at the agreed price ($A8.80).
