Outsourcing: Food Corporation of India told to outsource key operations

Consultancy group, McKinsey and Co., has suggested that the Food Corporation of India (FCI) outsource key operations such as foodgrains procurement, handling, transportation and distribution as part of its proposed restructuring plan.

This would lead to a more streamlined operation and cut staff levels by eight to ten thousand.
