Pollution: Malaysia blames Indonesia for high pollution levels

Malaysians are getting a bit peed off with Indonesia for failing to control the man-made forest fires that has caused Malaysia's worst ecological emergency in years.

It is alleged that seven senior citizens have died in recent days as a result of the pollutions, doctors claim it is too early to attribute the deaths to pollution.

However, Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) president Datuk Dr Salleh has said Indonesia should not blamed, blaming a lack of collective action by the authorities contributing to dangerous high levels of pollution.

"It is the joint responsibility of everyone, from the man-in-the-street to those at decision-making levels to implement measures to control the situation. We can not keep passing the buck to Indonesia."

Much easier to pass the buck to the "man in the street," how unusual.
