Trade: World Bank denies gas pipeline reports

The World Bank in Pakistan has denied reports suggesting they had warned against supporting the proposed gas pipeline from Iran to India via Pakistan.

A World Bank official, Shahzad Shargil, dismissed the report as "baseless." However, when asked if the World Bank had any concerns in relation to the project, he advised reporters that World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz was the person to ask.
