Advertising: Make Poverty History is history in the UK

Australia's ABC, reports that Make Poverty History (MPH), has been banned from television and radio advertising in Britain.

The campaign featuring rent-a-cause celebrities clicking their fingers to symbolise a child dying of poverty every three seconds, has been deemed by advertising watchdog Ofcom, to have political goals.

Perhaps someone can now ban those tacky little banners that deface second rate blogs hosted by those who were quick to jump on the first fashionable bandwagon that came along.

Naive and uninformed about the rag tag army of organisations that make up Make Poverty History, most of these dedicated followers of fashion, would be hard pressed to find Mali or Niger on a map of Africa.
