Charities: Super Girl show raises $62,000 for charity

An auction of 160 of the best seats for a concert by the top contestants on the Chinese TV show "Super Girl," has raised more $62,000 for charity.

The most expensive single seat for the October 6 show sold for $12,350 with one man paying $22,3000 for five seats in the first row.

Money raised during the charity auction will be donated to the Shanghai Charity Foundation to help needy college students from other provinces who are studying in Shanghai.

The "American Idol" style show attracts 10 percent of Chinese viewers. Altogether 150,000 people participated in the event.
