Energy: India and Bangladesh fail to reach agreement on gas pipeline

Mahmudur Rahman, Bangladesh's deputy minister for energy and mineral resources, has said that India and Bangladesh yesterday failed to reach agreement on a proposed tri-nation natural gas pipeline to meet India's growing energy demands.

He added that a deal had not emerged because India would not agree to link the pipeline to three trade-related concessions sought by Dhaka.
