Energy: Thieves hit power utilities in Brunei

Thieves in Brunei have stolen cables, pillars and doors from scores of power substations causing disruption to services and leaving power lines dangerously exposed.

Since July, the gang has targeted more than 60 substations in one district alone, mostly copper earthing cables, pillars holding electrical wires and aluminium doors of substations. These are then sold as scrap metal.

The thieves have become so brazen that are now striking during the day - disguised as utility workers.

Thieves hitting electricity stations - these bright sparks should be charged for this shocking crime!
