Exploration: Mali seeks new oil and gas exploration investment

Poverty stricken Mali, which not long ago became the fashionable cause of the month, is seeking new oil and gas exploration investment.

Creamer Media Engineering News, reports that Mali's director of AUREP (the agency in charge of petroleum exploration promotion) Mamadou Simpara, told the African Downunder conference in Perth, that four petroleum blocks were immediately available for oil and gas exploration.

Simpara said Mali's political stability and its legal and regulatory framework, were favourable for investment in the country's oil and mining sectors.
