Switzerland is to return $290 million deposited in the country by late Nigerian dictator Sani Abacha.
A second installment of $170 million will be returned when the funds became available.Switzerland blocked about $700 million that was deposited in Swiss bank accounts during Abacha's rule and has already returned $200 million.
Abacha's opponents maintain that he was a cruel despot that embezzled almost three billion dollars of public funds into private bank accounts in Europe and the Persian Gulf.
