Human Resources: Gas prices and Katrina bring push for telecommuting

As a result of rising gas prices and in the aftermath of Katrina, the federal Office of Personnel Management, is stepping up its efforts to promote telecommuting options for federal employees.

OPM Director Linda Springer has written to department and agency heads, urging them to use new technologies by letting employees work from home or telework centers closer to home.
