Industrial Relations: Australian unions want employers to pay for petrol

In a move that doesn't surprise me in the least, the national executive committee of the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) intends to pass on rising petrol prices directly to employers.

The union says it will make compensating workers for the high cost of fuel a component of any new enterprise agreements it negotiates on behalf of its tens of thousands of members.

The only shock element in that decision, is that it took the unions so long to come up with yet another way to screw employers.
