Katrina: The Sheriff and the damsels in distress

Channel Seven in Sydney, tonight had a story on a New Orleans sheriff, who along with a few of his men, braved bullets to rescue two Australian women who feared for their life.

Not only did he rescue them, he took them into the safety of his family home.

Quietly spoken and unassuming, he spoke alone to reporters. No prepared speech, no be-suited cronies beside him to hold his hand.

Thanks to him and his men, the women are safe and their loved ones back home can breath a sigh of relief.
