Mining: Bangladesh to import $300 million of mining equipment

The Asia Energy Corporation plans to import mining equipment worth $300 million dollars for extracting coal from the Phulbari coalmine in north-western Bangladesh. This will make it the largest single import of machinery in the history of the country.

Also in line for contracts are Japanese based Komatsu Ltd. and US based Caterpillar Inc.
