Security: Russian security services monitor telco's databases

According to Kommersant, a leading Russian business publication, the Russian government has ordered phone operators to provide information about phone calls, payments and other services to the Federal Security Service (FSB).

Security services would have details about cell phone or fixed-line users, who they talked to and for how long. They would also know where they are.

Experts say this form of interaction between phone companies and law-enforcement agencies is contrary to the Russian Constitution.
