An advert for the AIDS Foundation has come under fire from New Zealand's National Party, for being overly politically correct.
He has a point.
The ad begins with a statement that the organisation "acknowledges the Maori text of the Treaty of Waitangi as the basis upon which relationships between Maori and Tauiwi (non-Maori) must rest".
Gerry Brownlee, who is the National's Maori Affairs spokesman, says he can't see what that has to do with helping AIDS sufferers on an equal basis, regardless of race.
Neither do I!
