Russia and Brazil are to establish a technological alliance to deepen their cooperation in the energy and aerospace sectors.
Following talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Vladimir Putin said "It is in these spheres that we are determined to follow the road of establishing something of a technological alliance".
A contract for launching a Brazilian astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS) is one example of establishing such an alliance and "an especially important event for bilateral relations".
