Education: Bulgaria's President sees investments in science and higher education as a priority

Speaking at the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, has named investments in science and higher education as a priority to enable the country to be competitive in Europe and also on a global scale.

His statement comes at a time when the country's entry into the European Union is being hampered by failure to address issues the Union considers have rather more priority - such as curbing corruption and organised crime.
