Environment: Pollution leads to fewer baby boys

Probably much to the delight of Swedish rat-bag feminists, a team of researchers from Sao Paulo University in Brazil, have discovered that high levels of air pollution are reducing the number of newborn boys.

The researchers examined birth records for babies born between January 2001 and Dec 2003. In the least polluted areas more than half the babies born were male - 51.7%. That figure dropped to 50.7% in more highly polluted areas. Experiments on mice revealed similar results..

The findings were presented to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine annual meeting in Montreal.
