Goodnight from Sydney

That's the lot for today!

For one thing, it's a bit hard to concentrate tonight - it is the rugby league Grand Final here in Sydney. Think "Superbowl" or "FA Cup" and you have a rough comparison.

Below me is young couple who I doubt have ever gone to see any of the teams play. The same probably applies to their mates who have come to watch the game on TV and sink a few cold ones. Still, like thousands of households around Sydney, they are instant out-of-the-box supporters of Wests Tigers. They will still be fervent, die-hard supporters until around mid-day Tuesday.

I don't mind the noise, but I have to admit that it is a bit hard to focus on anything when there is singing, screaming, cheering, whooping and female giggling going on.

It's the giggling that has me puzzled. There is giggling - and there is giggling nudge, nudge, wink, wink. I may be spoken for and retired to the commentary box, but I still recognise that sort of giggle when I hear it!

I am all for a bit of kissing-and-a-hugging-and-a-fooling around, but hells bells boys - there's a game on! Even if you do manage to see a try (touch down) it's a but hard to throw your hands up in the air in celebration if your hand is located inside an item of female apparel. If you are like me and tend to get your watch band caught up in bra straps, you could end up in all sorts of strife.

Till tomorrow, wherever you may be - be safe!
