Today has been the sort of day when I find it necessary to remind myself, "Mike old son, days like this happen for a reason."
I know what the reason is too. It's to see if I am stupid enough to allow myself to be beaten by problems that can eventually be sorted out, and pack everything up to go in search of an uninhabited desert island.
I resist the urge to do so, not only because I don't like anything beating me, but because I know what will happen if I do find that island of peace of tranquillity.
I will be sitting on a log on a large deserted island, not a soul, ship or plane in sight, and just as I close my eyes to enjoy the peace and solitude, I will hear the words, "Excuse me mate, anyone sitting here?" That will be followed by the rustle of a newspaper and of course, a running commentary on its contents.
I have also been working on a new feature for the blog which will be in line with the title - "i On Global Trends". I am considering the possibility of featuring one specific country each day. The sort of thing I have in mind is an economic, industrial and political overview, along with links to relevant news articles.
I like to avoid issues that receive prominent media exposure, so I would be looking at some of the nations that do not receive as much international coverage as others.
How I will be able to fit it in with other commitments is something I still need to work out - but I will.
Till tomorrow - wherever you may be - be safe!
