Health: Japanese Atomic bomb survivors able to to apply for health benefits from overseas

Japan's Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Hidehisa Otsuji, has said that Japan will not appeal a high court ruling that enables atomic bomb survivors to apply for health benefits from overseas.

This means that survivors living abroad will be able to apply for the Japanese government's provision of healthcare benefits and funeral costs at Japanese diplomatic offices.

An estimated 3,660 A bomb survivors are living in more than 30 countries according to government figures.
