Human Resources: Imperial Tobacco to lay off 650 workers in Ontario

Imperial Tobacco Canada, is to close its last Canadian cigarette manufacturing plants. A total of 650 workers in Ontario will lose their jobs as the company moves production to an existing plant in Mexico.

Considering that Mexican workers get one-sixth the wages of their Ontario counterparts, the company would be irresponsible to ignore such obvious economic benefits.
