Management: Defense Department establishes Defense Business Transformation Agency

Washington Technology reports thats the U.S. Defense Department has established a new business agency - the Defense Business Transformation Agency (BTA) - to centrally manage some of the department's largest business programs.

Eighteen of the departments business programs, systems and initiatives, including the Defense Travel System, the Standard Procurement System and the Defense Integrated Military Human Resources System, will be transferred to the BTA by the end of November. Eventually the agency will be headed by a service two-star general or an equivalent Senior Executive Service official.

I know I shouldn't, but for some reason when I see the word "procurement", I get this vision of Sgt. Bilko.
