Youth: Cape Town children to be fingerprinted to curb child abductions

In an attempt to curb a wave of child abductions in the Cape Town area of Ravensmead, thousands of children are to be photographed and fingerprinted.

The campaign will soon begin in 17 schools and creches. Principals have backed the radical plans on the proviso that participation is voluntary. Both the photographs and fingerprints will be kept in police files.
