Agriculture: Cuba to receive cows from Vermont

It seems I have a thing about Vermont the last few days, this will be the third time recently that I have mentioned the state!

The Boston Globe reports Cuba is likely to order 100 Vermont cows to add to the 74 Holstein and Jersey heifers they received last August. The cows are part of a total of around 300 from the Northeast expected to be ordered by the Cuban government.

The Boston Globe also reports that "Little Debbie," a Jersey heifer that was a gift from the Putney School to the people of Cuba, has recently given birth to a bull, her first calf. Now that calls for a celebration, hand around the Cuban cigars.

Oh sorry, we can't do that can we.
