Aid: Libya may stop execution of Bulgarian nurses in return for aid

Bulgarian media sources have reported that Libya could stop the execution of five Bulgarian nurses jailed for infecting hundreds of children, (at least 40 died), with HIV, in return for the victims receiving humanitarian aid.

The US and the European Union say the nurses are innocent and sources allege they were tortured into confessing. Bulgaria has rejected paying billions of euros in "blood money" to save their lives. This they believe, would be seen as an admission of guilt.
