The US Justice Department is deciding if to investigate allegations of wrongdoing relating to a contract awarded to Halliburton subsidiary, Kellogg, Brown & Root.
Democratic Senator Byron Dorgan, released a letter from Defence Department Assistant Inspector General John R Crane, that said the department's Defence Criminal Investigative Services is investigating the allegations and "has shared its findings with the Department of Justice".
The Gulf Daily News, reports that "the letter also said the Justice Department is in the process of considering whether to pursue the matter".
