Energy: China expands commitment to renewable energy

China is to spend approximately $180 billion over the next 15 years to increase its use of renewable energy to 15 per cent of the total generated.

The plan was revealed by Zhang Guobao, vice minister of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Speaking at an international conference on renewable energy in Beijing, he said that, "Renewable energy, including solar, wind power and hydropower, will contribute to better energy security in China".
