Energy: Pakistan tells UN it will import nuclear plants

Pakistan has told the UN General Assembly that it will import nuclear plants and civilian technology as part of a 25-year plan to meet the country's rising energy needs.

The Daily Times, reports that Ambassador Aizaz Ahamed Chaudhry, Pakistan's deputy permanent representative to the UN cocktail circuit, said that Pakistan had taken steps, in cooperation with the international community and the IAEA, to eliminate an underground proliferation network.
