Goodnight from Sydney

Regular readers may have noticed there was a long delay between posts. I can explain.

I was sitting at the PC writing an article on outsourcing when I happened to glance out the window. The sun was shining, the air was clear - and it was Sunday afternoon.

I went back to reading a statement by a "company spokesman" and had the feeling that the guy would wake up in the morning and say, "I love the smell of redundancy letters in the morning" and thought bugger it - I'm out of here.

I decided to go to a beautiful nature reserve not ten minutes walk from me. A walk through rugged bushland that leads to a bay where one can sit and watch what I call, "jumping fish."

I used to love that walk but it is years since I have visited the reserve. Isn't it strange how we take for granted things that are so close to us? I used to live in the Welsh capital city Cardiff, and worked smack bang opposite Cardiff Castle. I never once visited it!

I will be posting a few photographs over the next few nights, but tonight's photo was taken at the start of my walk. In my street to be precise. This tree has always fascinated me. I could swear that one day a little mouth is going to appear and it will start talking to me.

Maybe it was just as well I took a break!

Wherever you may be - be safe!
