Human Resources: Dubai settles 2,500 labour disputes

Dubai: Following the directives of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, the Human Rights Department of the Dubai Police have been able settle problems relating to 2,500 labourers. The problems mainly relate to unfair working conditions and delays in receiving payment.

On receiving labour complaints, the Dubai Police Control transfers it immediately to Human Rights Department officials who visit company sites and try to settle the problem peacefully. If a company doesn't cooperate with the Dubai Police team, the matter is passed to the Dubai Police commander-in-chief.
