Human Resources: Word of mouth best way for immigrants to find jobs in Finland

According to a thesis presented at the University of Helsinki, social contacts are a more efficient way for immigrants to find jobs than public employment offices or newspaper advertising. Most of the immigrants who had been interviewed found jobs via word of mouth.

YLE reports that sociologist Akhlaq Ahmad, studied employment patterns of immigrants by answering 400 job ads and interviewing immigrants from the Indian Subcontinent.
