Industrial Relations: Workers to stop work at Shell Netherlands

Workers at Shell Netherlands are to strike in protest against planned pension reforms.

Under the new plan employees will be required to pay part of their pension contributions. The retirement age is also being raised from 60 to 65. The new scheme would affect 9,000 employees of Shell Netherlands and 1,800 workers of Dutch natural gas company NAM.

The industrial action is expected to affect refineries and petrochemical plants.
