Legal: Austrian parliament approves compensation for Holocaust survivors

Austria is to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation to Holocaust survivors. The Austrian Parliament has agreed to make the payments when the last related case against Austria in a U.S. court is settled or dropped.

Earlier this year, the Austrian government and corporate sector, created a special fund to pay around $210 million to the fund once all court cases against Austria relating to the Holocaust were resolved. However, the deal had to be agreed by Parliament before being enacted.
