Medical: 200,000 visually impaired poor helped to see in Vietnam

The Vietnam newsagency reports that the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Sponsoring Poor Patients, has enabled 200,000 visually impaired poor people, to see. The program covers 60 provinces and cities throughout Vietnam, as well as Laos and Cambodia

Over an eight year period, "Light for poor blind people," has provided cataract operations for 197,000 in remote villages. In addition, a further 3,000 in Vientiane and Champassak province of Laos, and Phnom Penh, Shihanouk Ville, Kampot, Kandal and Takeo of Cambodia, were helped by the program.
