Mining: Articles on the effects of mining on indigenous communities in the Philippines

There is an interesting article in Terra Daily, written by Cecil Morella (AFP), "Tribe Hits Jackpot As Mining Returns To Philippines", that looks at how a controversial mining project in the Philippines has altered the lives of local tribes - for the better.

The article claims the project is now being cited as an example of how resource companies and indigenous communities can coexist.

Perhaps however, the article should be read in conjunction with documents on the Mines and Communities website - in particular the forcible eviction of indigenous families.
