Outsourcing: Northwest Airlines plan to outsource 4,700 jobs

Northwest Airlines plans to outsource around 4,700 jobs, a move that would save the troubled airline $190 million in annual labor savings from the members of District 143 of the IAM .

Most of the jobs affected will be those involving baggage handling, ground crew work and customer servicing.
